Stories that come to life

Wander & Wonder tells stories in a unique and interactive way. With the help of carefully trained chatbots, you will learn about historical figures, their influential life moments and places. You can do this walking along a route with heritage locations, at home or in class. It’s all possible.

Start a conversation, ask questions and be inspired.

For Museums

Looking for an innovative way to introduce your collection to the public? Our custom-made AI characters allow visitors to engage with artists and other historical figures, both inside and outside the museum.

For education

An inspiring and memorable learning experience? With our custom-made AI characters, students can engage with historical figures. Chat like you do with friends. Ask a question. Share your opinion. In class, at home, or anywhere else.

Historical figures

Wander & Wonder brings historical figures to life. Well, not really. AI chatbots give you the chance to talk to their ‘digital twin’, iconic figures such as Vincent van Gogh or Hannie Schaft for example. Just on your mobile, as if you were chatting with a friend. Find out what they dreamed of, what their challenges were and be inspired by their life lessons. And, just like in a real conversation, our characters are also curious about your story.

Heritage locations

A story is inextricably linked to a location and therefore plays an important role in the experience. It is a tangible memory of what once happened there. You can see and touch it. A map shows the locations, and a marked walking route helps you on your way. You can start the conversation with your own guide from any location. And let’s be honest, who can tell more about it than the person who was actually there? We can even enrich the experience with additional material such as video, audio or photos.

Our approach

Our characters – both historical and fictional – are created with the utmost care. We respect the personality and legacy of each character to provide a believable and honest experience. We work closely with history experts and curators to achieve this level of fidelity.

When recreating historical figures and locations, we take legal and ethical issues into account. That’s why we take a ‘Safety by Design’ approach, performing a legal and ethical ‘sanity check’ for each project.

Legal

Where are the legal risks?, for example in the area of the copyright for the source data? In the world of generative AI, this is a complex issue. Users must also be able to trust that their privacy is guaranteed, with a crystal clear privacy policy (GDPR). We also take legal liability seriously. With the help of our legal partner Magnus & Weiss, we ensure that the legal aspect is covered.

Ethical

How do we deal with ethical issues? Take our colonial past for example: some historical figures are now viewed critically. We do not offer them a platform to posthumously promote their ideology, but we do recognize their educational value. And if a user starts a conversation with Oppenheimer, we naturally want to avoid him encouraging you to build an atomic bomb. Determining ‘red flags’ is essential.

Practical examples

We have created the projects below with great pleasure and care.

Vincent, All ears.

Started by proud Brabant entrepreneurs, this initiative has now been widely embraced. Among others by the Van Gogh Village Museum, CON Nuenen and JADS. The ambition is to really get to know Vincent. His many mail letters offered a unique opportunity in that respect.

Hannie Schaft

Who doesn’t know her, the girl with the red hair? Talk to Hannie, about her motivation to join the resistance, her friends or last moments. What would you do in her case? Get inspired by provocative statements.

Stichting Wijkcollectie

For Stichting Wijkcollectie we created ‘Roffa Sam’, a fictional guide who can tell you everything about Rotterdam Noord. An interactive map provides access to additional information about the locations, it’s inhabitants and is the starting point for a walking route or conversation.
